With the addition of L&P in 2024, HAAN further expanded its capabilities in automation, robotics, machine building, and process optimization. Today, their team of more than 100 technical specialists supports clients across various industries, including manufacturing, automotive, chemical processing, recycling, food production, and the process industry.

History

The first unit of our system was manufactured by a German production partner. Following advice from Paul in ’t Velt, Senior Consultant, we transitioned to a Dutch manufacturing partner to optimize eligibility for RVO funding. This creates a strong Dutch value chain consisting of a Dutch innovator, a Dutch production partner, and Dutch customers.

As a result, references to the former German producer may still appear on our website. All future units will be manufactured in the Netherlands and will incorporate an updated design featuring our latest technological innovations.

Upon reviewing the project, an RVO innovation advisor concluded that the innovation phase had been successfully completed and provided guidance on relevant subsidy schemes and tax incentives available for the next stage of growth.

With a distinguished career in research, technology, and innovation, Emmo served as President DSM Research and Chief Technology Officer at Royal DSM during a period of major transformation within the company.

He later held R&D leadership roles at Unilever and Friesland, Campina and has continued to contribute his expertise through various advisory and leadership positions in science, technology, and industry. His experience is particularly valuable in addressing complex innovation challenges and helping organizations move from ideas to practical solutions.

Ludwig Marie Louis de Haan

Founder / Developer / Director

Founder, developer, and director of Alka Eco, Ludwig Marie Louis de Haan is the inventor and innovator behind all the innovations on the website and BLOGS. With the Emission free Drug Destruction Unit he was the first in the world in 2020 to introduce it, but also the inventor of the Energy Recall Systems for human and animal systems, as well he introduced the Effluent Valorization system in December 2025 to the Dutch government and also to the Dutch RVO department. This system can even further clean the Effluent. He suggested it as a back to Nature system, the Dutch government will maybe consider this second stage, for approval.

With more than 35 years of technical experience at DSM Research B.V, he brings extensive expertise in safety engineering for pressure vessels, needed certifications, advanced process technology, pressure and gas/fluid systems, rotating equipment, materials, and corrosion expertise. He operates independent worldwide, and does extended travel around the globe.
